Spring Training

Welcome to our 2020 Spring Training and Cmopetitive Development Program.  Core Athletics is very excited to support these players in their journey.  Our most important goal is to prepare each player for their outdoor community and/or tournament season.

Our indoor program will begin WEDNESDAY February 12th.  Practice will begin at 6:00pm that evening.  This will be our usual Wednesday start time unless otherwise communicated.   SATURDAY practice will start February 15th at 8:00am.

Please see the below notes for practice:

  • Enter for practice using the hallway/gate between the small turf rink & the batting cages.  Players should hang their bags along the fence leaving space in the walkway.

  • Players should wear baseball pants and a hat to practice.  Molded cleats OR sneakers are appropriate for our sessions.

  • Parents may view practice from the above mezzanine, wait in the lobby or at the bleachers, or drop players off for practice (as long as you promise to come back for them).

  • All players should be dressed and ready to practice at the start time.

  • Practices will be 1:45-2 hours long.

  • Practice times will MOSTLY be WED 6:00pm & SAT 8:00am.  Occassional variances may occur and will be communicated in advance.

Our first month or more of practice sessions will be exclusively in the Core Athletics and batting cage areas.  The goal is to progress to controlled game play implementing some of the team and individual concepts covered.  The later part of the program we will continue Wednesday practices in a similar manner with Saturday morning transitioning to the larger turf areas for live game action.

The program will conclude May 2nd at which point players will be dismissed for their community season.
